How easy is a hot tub to maintain?

Hot tub maintenance is mostly focused on balancing water chemistry to ensure bathers stay safe and to ensure the bathing experience is enjoyable. Testing with test strips is fast and easy and adding chemicals to adjust takes a few minutes. At first you will find yourself testing more often as you get used to the process. After finding your feet, it is likely water is tested and adjusted twice or three times per week (depending on usage). On average this would be 15-20 minutes per week. The other important maintenance processes are filter cleaning and drain/refill. Both those processes take a little bit longer but filter cleaning is performed every 2-4 weeks and drain/refill every 4 months. A service plan can also save you time with drain and refill.
