Important Notes
- EcO must always remain submerged in water. Prolonged exposure to air can damage the sensors.
- Not compatible with salt-treated pools/spas. EcO Start Salt + is coming to the UK soon!
- EcO should be stored properly (follow the app's instructions) when the water temperature is below 15 degrees Celsius.
Frequently Asked Questions
What about test strips/strip tests?
Test strips are always useful for measuring stabilizer levels, alkalinity, and water hardness. The app will recommend performing strip tests during installation and as needed.
How far can I acesss data from?
Using Bluetooth you can access data from up to 9 metres away from your hot tub but the wi-fi gateway module allows you to access data from anywhere. The bluetooth range is around 15 to 20 metres but it depends on physical barriers between the gateway and the EcO especially with hot tub covers having an impact. We recommend placing the gateway as close to the spa as possible while also keeping protected from the elements.
What is the probe's lifespan?
EcO has a 2-year lifespan. After this period, you can order a replacement module at £115. Purchasing this module extends the warranty by an additional one year.
What is the probe's warranty duration?
The EcO probe is covered by a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase.
What is the battery life?
The battery lasts a minimum of 2 years. After this you will need to replace the module at a cost of £115 (which adds an additional 1 year warranty)
Do I need a subscription?
No, there's no subscription required. You can access all features, including chat customer support.
Do I have to calibrate the device?
There is no need to calibrate the device from new. However, from the second season onwards, we advise to calibrate at the beginning of each season. Note: If your EcO is never winterized (e.g., for an indoor pool, spa, Nordic bath, etc.), we recommend calibrating annually. View the iopool EcO calibration kit
Can I access my data worldwide?
Yes, it's possible with this complete pack, including the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi relay.
What parameters are monitored?
The EcO probe monitors the following parameters:
- Water temperature.
- Disinfection capacity (redox potential, ORP).
- pH (hydrogen potential).
Are iopool chemicals available in the UK?
Not currently but the good news is that the Eco can be used with all brands of chemicals, including our excellent Happy range of chemicals.
