Why are phosphates bad for hot tubs and swimming pools?
Phosphates are import contributors to algae growth (essentially food for algae) and can reduce the effectiveness of some automatic chlorine systems. A hot tub or pool with high phosphate levels will have reduced chlorine efficiency.

- Fill test tube (0106) to 10ml Line
- Remove one test strips from the bottle. Close bottle cap tightly after removing strip. Gently bend strip in half (do not fold!) with pads facing inward. Place strip inside test tube cap (as shown).
- Cap test tube and invert slowly 5 times (invert the tube slowly to allow the bubble to go from the top to bottom and bottom to top).
- Remove cap and test strip.
- Place bottom on test tube on white boxed area of colour chart. Look down through OPEN test tube and compare to colour chart to give result.
