Customer Questions
Does Chlorine make your eyes sting?
Chlorine itself does not make your eyes sting but a high level of chloramines (used up chlorine) or imbalanced PH can cause this.
How do I test the chlorine level in my swimming pool/hot tub?
You can use chlorine test strips, a comparator or a photometer to test the chlorine levels in your swimming pool or hot tub.
Will this chlorine damage my spa cover?
To prevent chlorine burn on the underside of your hot tub cover, ensure your hot tub cover is left off for 5-10 mins after dosing to reduce risk of deterioration.
Are Chlorine Granules or Tablets better?
See our handy guide Chlorine Granules vs Chlorine Tablets for a good comparison on these two products.
How much chlorine granules do I need to add to a hot tub?
For a hot tub of 1,000 Litres, to raise Free Chlorine by 1ppm, add 2g of chlorine granules. See the directions for use tab for full instructions.
How do I measure the amount of chlorine in my spa?
Use chlorine test strips to measure the Free Chlorine level in your hot tub. The idea range is 3-5ppm.
Can I sprinkle the granules directly into my water?
Yes, you can sprinkle these within your filter housing for Hot Tubs. We would advise the jets are running and the water is warm. With Pools, we would recommend to dissolve these first within a clean bucket of pool water.

  1. Maintain a Free Chlorine residual of betweem 2 and 3ppm (parts per million) for pools and 3-5ppm for hot tubs.
  2. For pools, pre-dissolve granules in a clean plastic bucket filled with pool water.
  3. For hot tubs, add directly to the water.
  4. To increase the chlorine residual in 1000 litres of water by 1ppm, add 2g of Chlorine Granules. (e.g. 140g of Chlorine Granules added to 70,000 litres of water will increase the chlorine residual by 1ppm). One heaped teaspoon holds apporximately 7g of chlorine granules.
  5. Ensure that the hot tub or pool circulation pump is running when adding the product. Operate circulation pump for at least 30 minutes after adding the product to allow it to disperse.
  6. Re-test the water to ensure the optimum chlorine level is achieved (Pools - 2 to 3ppm, Hot tubs 3-5ppm)
  7. Never add product when pool or spa is being used. Do not allow pool or spa to be used for at least 30 minutes after dosing.
